Plaibook is transforming how home service companies manage sales through AI-powered call intelligence and automated SMS outreach. We've hit profitability in 8 months and are projecting $1-3.2M revenue over the next 6 months. We're hiring our second engineer to help scale from dozens to thousands of home service companies.

About Us

We're currently a team of three founders who've built a profitable AI business in an unsexy industry with massive margins.

  • Tanner Crookston brings deep door-to-door sales expertise from Vivint and The Grit.

-Nathan Curtis recently sold his lawn care business and handles design, product, and finance.

-Ammon Kunzler left his role at Redo to build our platform from scratch.

We're bootstrapped by choice, profitable since month 6, and growing fast.

The Role:

As our founding engineer, you'll work directly with Ammon to scale our platform. You'll own entire features from conception to deployment, make architectural decisions that define our platform for years, and help build our engineering culture from day one.

You will:

  • Build AI/LLM systems that extract business intelligence from thousands of call transcripts daily

  • Design and implement automated SMS campaigns that actually close deals

  • Architect scalable systems as we grow from dozens to thousands of customers

  • Own features end-to-end, from customer conversations to production deployment

  • Interview and help hire the next 3-5 engineers

  • Work directly with founders on product roadmap and technical strategy

Requirements:

  • 3+ years building production software with proven ability to ship independently

  • Experience with modern web stacks (React, , Python, or similar) and Typescript

  • Track record of debugging complex production issues across the full stack

  • Ability to thrive in ambiguous environments and make pragmatic technical decisions

Nice to have:

  • Familiarity with Typescript, React, and NodeJS

  • Experience with LLMs/AI integration in production

  • Background in B2B SaaS or workflow automation

  • Previous early-stage startup experience

  • MongoDB or similar NoSQL database experience

Compensation:

  • Base Salary: $100,000 - $140,000 + Equity

  • Location: On-site in Provo, UT

This role requires long hours and comfort with ambiguity, but you'll own technical decisions end-to-end, see immediate revenue impact from your code, and build the foundation for a team that could grow to 20+ engineers.
