The Opportunity

We are growing and are looking for a highly motivated Transportation Engineer to join our Illinois Transportation team This is an exciting opportunity to work on impactful projects with a collaborative, people-first, and employee-owned firm that values your professional growth and contributions.

What You'll Do

As a member of our Transportation team, you'll play a key role in shaping roadway infrastructure projects across Illinois.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Leading roadway design tasks from Phase I to preliminary through final design for IDOT, Tollway, County, and Municipal clients
  • Developing and reviewing plan sets, roadway geometrics, quantity estimates, and associated design documents
  • Collaborating with multidisciplinary project teams to deliver high-quality, innovative transportation solutions on challenging projects
  • Serving as roadway project lead and providing technical guidance to junior engineers
  • Growing and developing necessary skills to advance into a Project Manager role

A valid driver's license and some travel will be required.

What You'll Bring

Minimum qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree (or higher) in civil engineering or related field from an accredited institution
  • At least 4 years of relevant roadway design experience
  • Professional Engineer (PE) license

The ideal candidate will also have:

  • Illinois PE or the ability to obtain within 6 months of hire
  • Hands-on roadway design experience with IDOT, Tollway, or local agencies
  • Proficiency in Bentley OpenRoads, MicroStation, and Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Teams)
  • Strong communication skills and a collaborative approach to project delivery

The expected salary range for this position is $91,000 – $125,000 annually, commensurate with experience, education, and location.
