inspects the activities of the crew to ensure appropriate and timely completion of projectsAssists supervisor with employee interviews, selections, performance appraisals, discipline, etc.Experience in the construction and repair of water and wastewater lines, services and tapsMaintains on-call availability for after hours emergencies on a rotating basis and leads the crew as necessary in the event of sewer chokes, sewer line repairs, investigation of customer complaints, ect.May issue tools and materials as necessaryAssists in training subordinates in the best and safest methods of accomplishing tasks, primarily through on-the-job training or individual instructionOperates equipment and performs duties of subordinates as neededMay transport heavy equipment and materials to and from job siteMay operate heavy complex motorized equipment such as track hoe, backhoe, flushing truck, etc.Monitors and performs maintenance work and equipment operations in the fieldMaintains regular and punctual on-site attendanceAdditional DutiesPerforms other duties as assignedJob RequirementsMinimum Qualifications / Acceptable EquivalencyHigh school diploma or GED equivalentFive (5) years experience in utility maintenance work and in operating heavy equipmentClass A Commercial Driver's License (CDL) with Tank Vehicle endorsement or ability to obtain within six (6) months of employmentMust have or obtain a valid TCEQ Class B Water Distribution License within thirty-six (36) months of employmentMust have or obtain a valid TCEQ Class III Wastewater Collections Operator License within thirty-six (36) months of employmentORAny combination of related education, experience, certifications and licenses that will result in a candidate successfully performing the essential functions of the jobCore CompetenciesAbility to communicate effectively both verbally and in writingAbility to form and maintain effective relationships with coworkers and customersAbility to read and write in order to prepare reports such as monthly reports, after-hour call log sheets and work orders;
