Title: Senior Network Engineer

Reports To: VP, Information Technology

Summary

The Senior Network Engineer is responsible for day-to-day network infrastructure and server operations as well as assisting with IT HelpDesk as a Level 3 resource.

Essential Responsibilities

  • Network Design & Implementation:
  • Plan, configure, implement and support scalable, and secure network solutions to meet business needs.
  • Evaluate new technologies and recommend upgrades or replacements for legacy systems.
  • Network Administration:
  • Manage, monitor, and maintain LAN, WAN, WLAN, VPN, and cloud-based networks.
  • Oversee configuration, maintenance, and troubleshooting of network devices, including routers, switches, firewalls, and load balancers.
  • Security & Compliance:
  • Implement and maintain network security protocols, including firewalls, intrusion prevention/detection systems (IPS/IDS), and VPNs.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant security standards, such as PCI.
  • Troubleshooting & Optimization:
  • Proactively identify and resolve network performance issues to ensure high availability and reliability.
  • Conduct root cause analysis for network outages and implement corrective actions.
  • Documentation & Reporting:
  • Develop and maintain detailed network documentation, including diagrams, configurations, and procedures.
  • Generate reports on network performance and security metrics.
  • Collaboration & Leadership:
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to support IT initiatives and projects.
  • Work with vendors to ensure timely deliverables and positive outcomes.
  • Responsible for infrastructure installation and maintenance, patch management for network equipment and servers, Opti9 backup and Opti9 DR Testing, and configuration of all hardware in Zoho Site 24x7.
  • Responsible to provide daily monitoring of Zoho Site 24x7, open tickets based on outages, work to resolve incidents and report incidents in daily scrum.

Education/Experience

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • 5+ years of hands-on experience in network engineering, with a focus on enterprise-level networks.
  • Advanced knowledge of routing protocols (e.g., OSPF, BGP, EIGRP) and switching technologies (e.g., VLAN, STP, VTP).
  • Experience with firewalls, VPNs, and network security tools (e.g., Cisco preferred).
  • Proficiency in network monitoring tools (e.g., SolarWinds, Nagios, Wireshark, Site 24x7).
  • Strong understanding of cloud networking (e.g., AWS, Azure, GCP) and SD-WAN technologies.
  • Excellent troubleshooting and analytical skills.

Preferred Certifications:

  • Cisco Certified Network Professional (CCNP) or higher (e.g., CCIE).
  • Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP) or equivalent.
  • AWS Certified Advanced Networking – Specialty (or similar cloud certifications).

Soft Skills:

  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and priorities in a fast-paced environment.
    Leadership and mentoring capabilities.

Working Conditions/Physical Demands:

The employee may be required to perform the essential functions of the job during evening and weekend concerts and/or events.

  • Must be able to sit, stand, lift, carry weight, kneel, bend, and grip tools during a full 8 hour shift.
  • Must be able to work all shifts, and weekends/holidays as required.
    Onsite Full-time: The work associated with this position will be performed onsite.
