Lead Certified Veterinary Technician

- CVT/LVT/RVT required
- Candidates with leadership experience encouraged to apply
- Available for on-call rotation (required)

- Possesses strong technical skills
- Has experience in anesthesia and surgical assisting and post-operative care
- Has experience running diagnostic imaging (MRI/CT/Radiology)
- Excellent problem-solving abilities (judgment, logic, creativity, conflict resolution)
- Ethical (diplomatic, courteous, professional)
- Strong attention to detail
- Able to observe the behavior and condition of animals
- Provide superior nursing care or emergency first aid to recovering or injured animals
- Comfortable with anesthetic patient monitoring of ASA I-III (preferred experience with ASA I-V)
- Familiarity with the use of ventilators (preferred)
- Familiar with common and advanced veterinary surgical procedures and post-operative therapies
- Able to obtain blood pressure, interpret basic ECG, Sp02, and ETC02 and integrate clinical signs with disease processes to assist doctors in early and appropriate intervention of patient care
- Collect laboratory samples, such as blood, urine, or tissue, for testing
- Perform laboratory tests, such as urinalyses and blood counts
- Comfortable utilizing digital radiography machines to acquire images using proper technique and positioning
- Comfortable utilizing advanced diagnostic equipment
- Support veterinarians to ensure quality veterinary care, advocate for pets, and educate clients.
- With each hospital function, assist veterinarians and the medical team to maximize productivity and maintain positive patient flow.
- Attend regular leadership and department meetings to collaborate with other management on improving and developing yourself and your team
- Ensure proper dissemination of information to your team
- Monitor and regularly report on department performance; proactively identify opportunities to enhance service quality and effectively utilize our resources.
- Assist in maintaining relevant, comprehensive medical records with the support of practice systems.
- Obtain relevant health history and information from clients and maintain medical charts.
- Use safe restraining techniques, follow standard protocols, and sustain clean, sterile, organized treatment areas, exam rooms, and labs.
- Be willing to guide, mentor, and support fellow team members.
