​Job Summary

​The Part-Time Jewelry Sales & Customer Service Associate is the face of Hope Jewelers, responsible for creating a welcoming and professional environment for all customers. This role involves assisting customers with purchases, educating them on our products and services, handling transactions, and supporting the daily operations of the store. A passion for fine jewelry and a commitment to outstanding customer care are essential.

​Key Responsibilities

  • ​Sales & Customer Service:
  • ​Greet all customers warmly and provide personalized, attentive service.
  • ​Present and sell fine jewelry, watches, and related services (e.g., repairs, custom design).
  • ​Develop a strong knowledge of all products, including diamonds, gemstones, precious metals, and watch brands.
  • ​Effectively communicate product features, pricing, and care instructions to customers.
  • ​Achieve personal and team sales goals.
  • ​Store Operations:
  • ​Process sales transactions accurately using the point-of-sale (POS) system.
  • ​Handle intake and discharge of customer items for repair or service, ensuring all details are recorded correctly.
  • ​Assist with maintaining the appearance of the showroom, including cleaning jewelry, dusting cases, and arranging displays.
  • ​Monitor and manage store inventory, assisting with receiving, ticketing, and organizing merchandise.
  • ​Answer phones professionally and assist with administrative tasks as needed.
  • ​Teamwork & Security:
  • ​Adhere to all company policies, especially those related to security, loss prevention, and inventory control.
  • ​Collaborate with team members to ensure a cohesive and positive work environment.

​Required Skills & Qualifications

  • ​High school diploma or equivalent.
  • ​Proven retail or customer service experience, preferably in a luxury or specialty retail environment.
  • ​Excellent communication, interpersonal, and active listening skills.
  • ​Professional demeanor and polished appearance.
  • ​Meticulous attention to detail and strong organizational skills.
  • ​Basic computer proficiency and comfort with point-of-sale (POS) systems.
  • ​Ability to work a flexible part-time schedule, which may include Saturdays.

​Preferred Qualifications

  • ​Previous experience working with fine jewelry, diamonds, or watches.
  • ​Knowledge of jewelry terminology (e.g., cuts, settings, metals).
  • ​GIA or DCA training/certification is a plus.
