We're looking for an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our Consulting Services Team — the group that delivers IT projects, staff augmentation, and break/fix services for our larger customers.

You'll be responsible for helping your engineers succeed: balancing workloads, developing their technical and consulting skills, and ensuring high-quality project delivery. You'll partner closely with our project management office, account managers, and clients to ensure every engagement runs smoothly and delivers measurable business outcomes.

This is a hybrid position with onsite requirements at our HQ in Louisville, KY. Regionally-based applicants are welcome to apply, but some travel (at least twice a month) to customer sites and our headquarters will be required.

What You'll Do

  • Lead and coach a team of engineers delivering enterprise-level IT projects and support engagements
  • Oversee day-to-day project execution, resource planning, and workload balancing
  • Partner with Project Management to ensure projects are delivered on time, on budget, and on scope
  • Manage departmental financial performance, including P&L accountability and budgeting
  • Build and maintain strong client relationships; support stakeholder communication and escalation management
  • Collaborate with Sales and Managed Services leadership to identify growth opportunities and improve service delivery
  • Drive consistency in processes, documentation, and delivery excellence
  • Foster a culture of teamwork, accountability, and continuous learning

What We're Looking For

  • Proven leadership or management experience in a technical or consulting environment
  • Strong background in enterprise IT (infrastructure, cloud, networking, or systems engineering)
  • Consulting mindset — you can connect technical solutions to business outcomes
  • Excellent soft skills — communication, emotional intelligence, and professionalism under pressure
  • Solid understanding of project management principles and lifecycle
  • Experience managing budgets, P&L, or departmental financials
  • Local or Regional to Louisville, KY and open to limited travel (roughly 2x per month)
  • Business and financial acumen with a focus on outcomes and efficiency
