Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and knowledgeable Statistics Tutor to provide personalized instruction to high school students. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in statistics, a passion for teaching, and the ability to adapt their teaching methods to meet the individual needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide one-on-one and small group tutoring sessions in Statistics, focused on AP Statistics.
  • Develop customized lesson plans and study materials based on the Statistics curriculum.
  • Explain complex statistical concepts in a clear and understandable manner.
  • Assist students in understanding and completing homework assignments, projects, and preparing for exams.
  • Foster a positive and engaging learning environment to motivate students.
  • Assess students' progress and adjust teaching strategies accordingly.
  • Communicate effectively with students and parents regarding progress and areas of improvement.
  • Stay updated with the latest developments and trends in statistics and education.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Statistics, Mathematics, Education, or a related field; advanced degree preferred.
  • Strong knowledge of the AP Statistics curriculum and exam structure.
  • Previous tutoring or teaching experience, particularly in AP Statistics, is highly desirable.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Patience, adaptability, and a passion for helping students succeed.
  • Ability to work flexible hours, including evenings and weekends, as needed.

Preferred Skills:

  • Experience with educational technology and online resources.
  • Familiarity with different learning styles and strategies to address diverse student needs.
  • Strong organizational and time-management skills.
  • Ability to inspire and motivate students to achieve their academic goals.

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour
