The company has an exciting opportunity for an Electrical Design Engineer with a strong background in electronic design using embedded microcontrollers and firmware development, to join our team.

Primary Job Responsibilities:  

  • Actively contributes to development projects as a member of Raycap's local and global technical engineering teams
  • Designs and lays out printed circuit boards using the Altium software suite
  • Manages the efficient and timely translation of customer needs into viable marketable solutions
  • Evaluates electrical systems, products and applications, to design optimal solutions for our customers
  • Assures product quality during production by designing electrical testing methods at both board and system level
  • Prepares technical reports by collecting, analyzing, and summarizing information and trends
  • Provides technical support to inside and outside sales personnel
  • Adheres to Raycap's Quality Management Systems (QMS), Environmental Management (EMS), and Occupational Health & Safety (OSHA) and procedures

Qualifications / Experience:

  • This position requires a BSEE or MSEE
  • 1 - 5 years of product development experience in an electronic / electrical manufacturing environment
  • Design experience in one of the following product segments:
    • Power, energy, defense, industrial automation and/or control industries
    • Telecommunications, RF applications & testing and DC circuits
    • Prior experience in the design of Surge Protection Devices will be a plus
  • Analog and digital electronic design and schematic capture
  • Experience with embedded microcontroller designs, ICE and IDE development tools and C programming.
  • Strong organizational and time management skills and an ability to adapt to changing requirements and circumstances
  • Strong verbal presentation, writing and computer application skills  
  • An able to simultaneously manage several objectives and changing priorities
  • An ability to interpret a multitude of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form
  • Willingness to work in a cooperative and effective manner while under pressure to meet deadlines
