Silgan Closures, a global company in sustainable packaging solutions, is seeking a Sales Manager at our Downers Grove, IL Corporate Office. In this role, you will guide strategic efforts to grow revenue, expand into new markets, and win national and multinational accounts across our plastic and metal closure solutions for the food and beverage industry.

We're looking for a results-oriented sales professional with a hunter mentality and a passion for developing new business opportunities.

What you will do:

• Identify and pursue new business opportunities in untapped markets, verticals, and product categories
• Build and maintain relationships with existing customers while driving strategic sales growth
• Develop go-to-market strategies and territory plans that deliver measurable results
• Monitor market trends and competitor activity to uncover emerging opportunities
• Resolve objections and close deals through value-based, consultative selling
• Join forces cross-functionally to ensure seamless onboarding and support for new accounts

• Partner with Customer Account Specialists to align supply chain and inventory with customer expectations

• Negotiating national and international contracts and proposals

• Expanding market share across major food and beverage customers while pursuing emerging markets and opportunities.
• Managing receivables and optimizing working capital

What you'll need to have:

• Bachelor's degree or equivalent
• Minimum 5 years of business-to-business sales experience in packaging, manufacturing or food or beverage sectors
• Proven success in new business development and sales strategy execution
• Proficiency in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint
• Exceptional communication, negotiation, and presentation skills
• A self-starter mindset with a consistent record of meeting or exceeding sales targets
• Ability to study market data and convert insights into actionable plans
