Position Summary
BB&E is seeking a dynamic and detail-oriented
Project Engineer
to join our team, supporting the Air Force Civil Engineer Center (AFCEC) Natural Disaster Recovery (NDR) Division onsite at
Tyndall AFB, FL
.

Job Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assist AFCEC NDR Government Project Managers with the coordination, monitoring, and oversight of assigned construction projects
  • Provide field oversight of construction projects and maintain quality control metrics related to project planning, scheduling, and cost control
  • Communicate effectively during formal meetings and daily interactions with AFCEC NDR Government personnel to define and interpret their requirements and needs
  • Assist with the preparation of project status reports and Program Manager Reviews (PMRs) presentations for AFCEC NDR Senior Leaders
  • Apply expertise on multiple complex work assignments. Assignments may be broad in nature, requiring originality and innovation in determining how to accomplish tasks
  • Operate with appreciable latitude in developing methodology and presenting solutions to problems
  • Plan and execute major projects in a wide array of civil engineering areas
  • Contribute to deliverables and performance metrics where applicable

Requirements
Key Qualifications

  • U.S. Citizenship and theability to obtain/maintain a NACI/CAC is required
  • Certification: Registration as an Engineer-in-Training (EIT), Professional Engineer (PE) or Project Management Professional (PMP) is desired, but not required
  • Strong Communication Skills: Excellent verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey complex technical concepts to diverse audiences
  • Software: Proficiency using MS Office software including Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Self-Starter: Highly motivated, with the ability to manage multiple tasks and deadlines autonomously

Experience & Education

  • Experience: Minimum five (5) years of experience in a position with similar duties; experience with disaster recovery projects is a plus; Department of Defense (DoD), Military Construction (MILCON), or comparable Programs/Projects experience is required
  • Education: Minimum of a Bachelor's of Science degree or any bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university is required

Physical Requirements

  • Ability to stand/walk/climb/kneel/crouch and remain in a stationary position/sit at least 60% of the time
  • Ability to operate office equipment, including computer, copy machine, phone, etc
  • Ability to use hands to finger, handle or feel objects or controls; reach with hands and arms
  • Capable of lifting over 25 lbs
  • Ability to see details of objects that are less than a few feet away
  • Ability to understand the speech of another person, speak clearly so listeners can understand, and talk or hear both in person and by telephone
