Job Summary

We are seeking a detail-oriented and knowledgeable Tax Preparer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in tax preparation and corporate accounting, with the ability to analyze financial data effectively. This role involves preparing tax returns for individuals and businesses, ensuring compliance with all relevant tax regulations, and providing exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

  • Prepare and file accurate tax returns for individuals and corporations while adhering to all federal and state regulations.
  • Analyze financial information to identify potential deductions and credits that can benefit clients.
  • Utilize financial software, including Sage, to manage client data and streamline the tax preparation process.
  • Conduct thorough reviews of clients' financial records to ensure accuracy in reporting.
  • Provide guidance on tax-related issues and educate clients on tax-saving strategies.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of current tax laws and changes in regulations that may affect clients.
  • Collaborate with other team members in public accounting to enhance service delivery and client satisfaction.
  • Assist in the development of financial sales strategies to promote tax services offered by the firm.

Qualifications

  • Proven experience in tax preparation, corporate accounting, or public accounting is preferred.
  • Strong analytical skills with the ability to interpret complex financial data.
  • Proficiency in financial software applications; experience with Sage is a plus.
  • Familiarity with technical accounting principles and practices related to taxation.
  • Excellent 10 key typing skills for efficient data entry.
  • Strong communication skills, both verbal and written, with a focus on customer service.
  • Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment.
