Department Overview
Nuclear Generation produces safe, reliable, and cost-effective electricity for PG&E's customers in an environmentally responsible manner. As the state's single largest source of clean energy, Diablo Canyon Power Plant's two pressurized water reactors produce 2,340 MW of electricity for California. As directed by California Senate Bill 846, PG&E is taking actions to continue Diablo Canyon operations for five years beyond 2025 to support state electrical reliability needs. Our coworkers at Diablo Canyon are strongly committed to the highest levels of safety, performance, and security at the facility. At both Diablo Canyon and PG&E's former nuclear unit at the Humboldt Bay Power Plant, PG&E safely stores spent nuclear fuel on-site in dry container storage systems approved and licensed by the Nuclear Regulatory Commission. Nuclear Generation is comprised of approximately 1,300 coworkers.
The Sourcing organization is the functional lead for the procurement of materials and services at Pacific Gas and Electric Company. The department collaborates with internal clients and suppliers, managing $10 billion of annual company spend, to develop mutually beneficial total cost solutions for goods and services. The department provides the following services to internal clients: procurement of goods and services, strategic sourcing and cost savings, supplier relationship management, supplier diversity planning, execution and outreach, compliance management, ongoing procurement field support, and management of the procure-to-pay cycle.
Position Summary
To obtain and maintain employment and unescorted access at DCPP, you must be able to pass a drug and alcohol screen, a security background check, psychological screen, computer-based training, and be subject to random drug and alcohol screening.
This position oversees the procurement of quality and non-quality related services and materials at Diablo Canyon and Humboldt Bay Power Plants through leadership of a cross-functional team to strategically and tactically source services and materials critical to the reliable operation of Diablo Canyon. This team maximizes value to the company through efficiency and cost savings, maintains a diverse and robust supply base, and achieves safety, environmental, productivity, and customer satisfaction targets.
Travel is approximately 5% of the scheduled work time, and would include select industry conferences, procurement meetings, or training.
This position is hybrid, working from your remote office and your assigned work location based on business need. The assigned work location will be within the PG&E Service Territory (San Luis Obispo).
PG&E is providing the salary range that the company in good faith believes it might pay for this position at the time of the job posting. This compensation range is specific to the locality of the job. The actual salary paid to an individual will be based on multiple factors, including, but not limited to, specific skills, education, licenses or certifications, experience, market value, geographic location, collective bargaining agreements, and internal equity. Although we estimate the successful candidate hired into this role will be placed towards the middle or entry point of the range, the decision will be made on a case-by-case basis related to these factors.
A reasonable salary range is:
California Minimum: $120,000

This job is also eligible to participate in PG&E's discretionary incentive compensation programs.
