Position Summary

We are seeking an experienced
Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE)
to support supplier management and quality assurance for
Interiors Commodity components
such as center consoles, door panels, hard trims, instrument panels, and soft trims. This role requires both
technical expertise and strong interpersonal skills
to lead supplier quality initiatives, resolve production issues, and ensure a smooth transition of new products into mass production.

You will be responsible for managing supplier performance from
cradle-to-grave
, ensuring the highest standards of quality, and collaborating with Manufacturing, Plant Quality, Material Planning, Logistics, and NPI teams to protect production operations and drive continuous improvement.

Key Responsibilities

• Supplier Quality Leadership:
  Provide supplier quality support by identifying and resolving supplier quality issues promptly to maintain operational excellence in EV production.
• End-to-End Ownership:
  Take full responsibility for assigned suppliers, including
  performance tracking, scorecards, and quality audits.
• Problem Solving:
  Conduct
  root cause analysis
  using quality tools (8D, 5 Whys, Fishbone) and implement permanent corrective actions.
• Cross-Functional Collaboration:
  Work closely with internal teams and suppliers to develop effective, data-driven solutions that ensure consistent product quality.
• Supplier Audits & Performance:
  Perform supplier site assessments, audits, and process improvement reviews, driving measurable quality improvements.
• Reporting:
  Prepare and present regular performance reports for senior management, highlighting supplier metrics, OKRs, KPIs, risks, and action plans.
• New Product Integration:
  Support
  new product build events
  and collaborate with engineering teams to ensure quality standards are met during production ramp-up.
• Continuous Improvement:
  Capture and apply
  lessons learned
  from production programs to future projects.
• Travel:
  Ability to travel 25–75% domestically and internationally to supplier and manufacturing sites as required.

Qualifications & Experience

• 5+ years
  of
  Supplier Quality Engineering
  experience, preferably within
  automotive interiors
  (center consoles, door panels, trims, etc.).
• Bachelor's degree
  in a
  technical or engineering field
  required;
  Master's preferred.
• Strong working knowledge of
  quality methodologies and standards
  , including
  IATF 16949, APQP, PPAP, SPC, MSA, FMEA, DOE, DFM/A, and GD&T.
• Expertise in
  root cause analysis and quality tools
  such as 8D, 5 Whys, and Fishbone diagrams.
• Excellent ability to read and interpret
  engineering drawings, specifications, and schematics.
• Analytical and data-driven mindset
  with strong technical writing and communication skills.
• Certification preferred:
  ASQ, Six Sigma Black Belt, or equivalent.
• Proficiency in
  Microsoft Excel, Word, PowerPoint
  ; familiarity with
  Smartsheet, JMP, Minitab, JIRA, or Tableau
  is a plus.
