Manages a team of Compliance staff, including Supervisors, to ensure the production of timely, accurate, and comprehensive research on federal and state statutory and regulatory matters, industry best practices, and complex internal issues. The primary area of focus is contingent on the needs of the Compliance Risk organization in order to effectively support overall corporate strategy. Emphasis may be on insurance, licensing and affiliations, payroll tax, health care reform, retirement, employment law, professional employer organizations, financial services and banking,and applicable international law.

Responsibilities:

  • Manages Compliance team, including the assignment and prioritization of research projects, analyses, and tasks; develops, maintains, and monitors deadline schedules for staff's work production, and addresses escalated research inquiries, as needed.
  • Develops and maintains knowledge of industry trends and changes related to all supported supported market teams, business units, corporate departments and products and makes recommendations for changes to ensure compliance with pertinent federal, state, and local mandates and/or company policies.
  • Recruits, selects, hires and evaluates performance of Compliance team to ensure all department needs are handled appropriately. Counsels and develops staff for personal and corporate advancement through career development, training programs, and other resources as required for professional advancement.
  • Works closely with senior Compliance leadership to drive the formulation of team priorities, strategic plans, key performance indicators, key risk indicators, and standards to meet the regulatory needs of the supported market teams, business units, and corporate departments.
  • Develops and maintains constructive relationships with internal and external business partners to ensure compliance needs are properly communicated and executed to minimize impact/cost of compliance to Paychex. Represents the company as needed on industry groups/coalitions. Manages regulatory examinations and audits for supported market teams, business units, and corporate departments.
  • Assists senior Compliance leadership with the monitoring and testing of the supported market teams, business units, and corporate departments actions and processes at periodic intervals; manages periodic and ad-hoc testing and assists in the development of educational and training material.
  • Drives innovation by identifying, leading and implementing continuous improvement, technologies and growth initiatives that impact results to enhance profitability and assist the organization to meet its business objectives and goals.
  • Responds to general complaints and regulatory inquiries, examinations, audits, and requests for information.
  • Assists with the preparation of capital and operating budgets for Compliance cost center.
  • Acts in a leadership capacity to entire team.
  • Other duties as assigned to support the general purpose of the position's function.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in BA in Business Administration, Finance or a related field preferred. - Preferred
  • 6 years of experience in Compliance or Risk Management field, to include a minimum of 2 years of supervisory experience.

Compensation: In the spirit of pay transparency, we are excited to share that the starting base pay range for this position is $102, $191,100.00 annually. Please keep in mind that this range is the base pay only and does not consider other components that make up the total rewards package for the position. If you are hired at Paychex, your overall compensation will be determined based on factors such as geographic location, skills, education, and/or experience which may result in total compensation outside of this range.
