Job Summary:

The Director of Operations holds a pivotal leadership role responsible for overseeing and optimizing all aspects of production and logistics operations. They ensure the efficient utilization of resources, adherence to quality standards, and achievement of operational goals to drive business success and customer satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement operational strategies aligned with the company's overall goals and objectives. Collaborate with senior leadership to define operational priorities, drive process improvements, and enhance efficiency.
  • Oversee all aspects of production operations, including scheduling, staffing, inventory management, and quality control. Ensure production targets are met while maintaining high standards of product quality, safety, and consistency.
  • Coordinate logistics activities, including transportation, warehousing, and order fulfillment, to ensure timely delivery of products to customers. Implement logistics strategies to optimize routes, reduce costs, and improve service levels.
  • Establish and enforce quality assurance processes and standards to ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry best practices.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement throughout the operations organization. Identify opportunities for efficiency gains, cost savings, and waste reduction through process optimization, automation, and innovation.
  • Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) and metrics to measure and track operational performance. Analyze data, identify trends, and implement corrective actions to address any deviations from targets.
  • strong leadership to the operations team, including managers, supervisors, and frontline staff. Foster a culture of collaboration, accountability, and employee engagement. Provide coaching, training, and development opportunities to enhance team skills and capabilities.
  • Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and promote a safe working environment for all employees.
  • Develop and manage operational budgets, including expenses for labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs. Monitor expenditures, identify cost-saving opportunities, and optimize resource allocation to achieve financial objectives.

Required Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:

  • Bachelor's degree in business administration, operations management, engineering, or a related field (Master's degree preferred).
  • Extensive experience (typically 7-10+ years) in operations management roles within the food industry or a related manufacturing sector.
  • Strong knowledge of food manufacturing processes, supply chain logistics, and quality management systems.
  • Proven leadership skills with the ability to inspire and motivate teams, drive change, and achieve results.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities, with a focus on data-driven decision-making and continuous improvement.
  • Effective communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to collaborate cross-functionally and interact with stakeholders at all levels of the organization.
  • Familiarity with regulatory requirements, safety standards, and industry best practices applicable to the food industry.
  • Project management experience, including the ability to plan, execute, and oversee complex projects from conception to completion.
