Job Overview

We are seeking a dynamic and skilled Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) Technician to join our team and drive excellence in maintaining and repairing climate control systems across various properties. Duties

  • Install, maintain, troubleshoot, and repair heating, ventilation, air conditioning, refrigeration, and related mechanical systems across commercial and residential properties.
  • Read and interpret schematics, blueprints, technical manuals, and HVAC design documents to accurately diagnose issues and execute repairs.
  • Perform routine inspections of HVAC equipment including boilers, air conditioning units, refrigeration systems (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing connections, and appliances to ensure proper operation.
  • Conduct preventive maintenance tasks such as cleaning filters, checking refrigerant levels, calibrating thermostats, and replacing worn components to extend equipment lifespan.
  • Utilize diagnostic tools such as ohmmeters and other testing devices to identify electrical or mechanical faults efficiently.
  • Repair or replace defective parts using equipment repair techniques including welding and mechanical adjustments.
  • Maintain detailed service records documenting work performed, parts used, and system conditions for compliance and future reference.
  • Assist with HVAC/R system design modifications or upgrades based on client needs or new technological advancements.
  • Support property maintenance activities by ensuring all HVAC systems operate safely and efficiently in accordance with industry standards.
  • Operate company vehicles safely in compliance with all traffic laws while transporting tools or equipment to job sites.
  • Collaborate with team members to ensure timely completion of projects while adhering to safety protocols at all times.

Experience

  • Proven experience as a service technician specializing in HVAC systems; construction background is highly valued.
  • Strong mechanical knowledge with hands-on experience in equipment repair including boilers, refrigeration units (including ammonia refrigeration), plumbing systems, and appliance repair.
  • Familiarity with schematics, technical manuals, HVAC design principles, and troubleshooting procedures.
  • Field service experience working directly on HVAC/R systems in commercial or residential settings.
  • Ability to read blueprints and schematics accurately for installation or repair purposes.
  • Experience with electrical testing tools such as ohmmeters for diagnosing system faults.
  • Knowledge of welding techniques useful for repairing or fabricating components as needed.
  • Understanding of property maintenance practices related to climate control systems for optimal building performance.
  • Valid driver's license with a clean driving record; experience operating driver vehicles preferred.
  • Additional skills such as welding certifications, refrigeration expertise (including ammonia refrigeration), boiler operation knowledge, or mechanic experience are advantageous.
