Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and skilled Dental Assistant to join our amazing dental team. Our office is growing We are moving to a brand new location end of this month The ideal candidate will provide exceptional support to our dental professionals in delivering high-quality patient care. This role involves assisting with a variety of dental procedures, managing patient records, and ensuring a clean and safe environment in accordance with infection control protocols.

Responsibilities

  • Assist dentists during examinations and procedures, providing chairside support.
  • Prepare and maintain the dental operatory, including sterilization of instruments and equipment.
  • Take and develop dental X-rays while adhering to safety protocols.
  • Manage patient records using electronic medical record (EMR) systems such as Dentrix or Eaglesoft.
  • Ensure compliance with HIPAA regulations regarding patient confidentiality.
  • Educate patients on oral hygiene and post-operative care instructions.
  • Monitor vital signs and assist in the assessment of patients' health status.
  • Perform four-handed dentistry techniques to enhance efficiency during procedures.
  • Maintain accurate medical documentation and records for all patients.
  • Assist in pediatric dentistry procedures, ensuring a comfortable experience for young patients.
  • Stay updated on dental terminology, anatomy knowledge, and infection control practices.

Skills

  • Proficiency in EMR systems, particularly Open Dental
  • Knowledge of HIPAA regulations and infection control standards.
  • Experience with chairside assisting techniques and four-handed dentistry.
  • Familiarity with dental terminology, medical documentation, and medical coding.
  • Ability to perform X-ray imaging and utilize 3D scanners effectively.
  • Understanding of general dentistry practices, including prosthodontics and endodontics.
  • Strong communication skills for interacting with patients of all ages, particularly in pediatrics.
  • Attention to detail and ability to maintain a clean, organized work environment.
