ORGANIZATION
Partnerships for Trauma Recovery is a 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization dedicated to healing the psychological and psychosocial impacts of trauma among international survivors of human rights abuses, persecution related to identity and beliefs, and forced displacement resulting from war, torture, gender-based, criminal and other forms of interpersonal violence. PTR provides psychological, psychosocial and psychiatric care for asylum seekers and refugees from around the world; conducts community outreach, support and training; and advocates for policies to prevent trauma and re-traumatization among international survivors of violence. Founded in 2015, PTR has approximately 25 staff members, is predominantly government grant-funded, and maintains a yearly operating budget of approximately $2.5 million.
POSITION OVERVIEW
As a member of the Leadership Team, the primary responsibility of the
Clinical Director
will be to lead and oversee PTR's provision of direct services. Collaborating closely with the Leadership Team and reporting to the Executive Director, the
Clinical Director
will serve as PTR's clinical leader regarding client care programming and service delivery. The
Clinical Director
will provide programmatic oversight for all direct service programming, including supporting managers of the Psychosocial Care, African Communities, Partnership and Outreach, and Counseling Programs, with a total of 6-8 reports. This position will oversee the quality of globally trauma-informed and culturally responsive services provided for international survivors of human rights abuses who have fled violence and persecution in their countries of origin, and are seeking greater safety in California.

ROLES & RESPONSIBILITIES
The roles and responsibilities of the
Clinical Director
will include the following, and other duties as assigned:
Direct Services Program Leadership
●
Oversee and support the program development, implementation and evaluation of direct services
in alignment with
PTR's mission and strategic plan. Remain responsive to client needs and primary programmatic goals
, and attentive to annual work plans and grant requirements.
- Create and foster an environment that empowers managers to lead confidently and effectively.
- Support the expansion of programming to include the creation of collective healing spaces that are community-driven and informed by data collected from the community.
● Maintain a comprehensive understanding of PTR's grants and funding requirements and contribute to grant writing as necessary. Work closely with the
Director of Development & Operations
to ensure implementation of direct services meets evolving grant requirements and with the
Data & Reporting Manager
to develop and implement systems for accurate data collection and retrieval to inform program development.
Direct Services Management & Supervision
- Manage and oversee direct service programming including client caseloads, the delivery of psychological, psychosocial and psychiatric services, clinical training and community outreach while ensuring providers follow ethical, legal and regulatory requirements set forth by PTR policies and procedures and federal and state laws, including the California Board of Psychology and Board of Behavioral Sciences.
- Develop and implement Policies and Procedures that contribute to a trauma-informed environment through providing clarity and boundaries.
- Provide clinical supervision, consultation and professional development support for direct services staff and program managers.
- In collaboration with the Leadership Team and Program Managers, recruit direct service staff, conduct new direct service staff orientation, training and mentorship to foster a strong and cohesive client care team, facilitating communication and coordinating workflow, resources and priorities to meet programmatic goals and objectives.
- Carry a caseload of 1-3 clients.
QUALIFICATIONS
Required Education & Experience
- Doctoral degree in Clinical Psychology (Psy.D or Ph.D), Master's degree in Clinical Social Work (MSW) or Counseling Psychology (MFT); Licensed in the state of California (or able to obtain CA license)
- 7-10 years of experience providing trauma-informed care and/or clinical supervision for individuals, families & groups from diverse and underserved populations
- 5+ years in a director-level leadership position, supporting program development and team management within a non-profit and/or community mental health setting
- Experience developing service delivery systems and protocols & procedures for client care
- Experience & interest in fostering diverse, equitable and inclusive work & team environments
Preferred Experience & Skills
- Experience working cross-culturally with diverse international populations, refugees and/or asylum seekers, and working clinically in different languages and/or with in-person interpreters.
- Fluency in one or more languages in addition to English. Spanish, Tigrinya, Amharic, French, or Arabic preferred.
- Experience working collaboratively within multidisciplinary teams and leading groups

Salary & Benefits
- $120,000-$140,000/year based on skills, experience, and licensure
- Anticipated start date: March 1, 2026
