Position Summary:
The EHS Regulatory Manager – Permitting & Compliance is a well-rounded environmental, health, and safety (EHS) professional responsible for managing regulatory compliance, permitting, and environmental programs across California, Arizona, Oregon, and Texas. This role requires expertise in air, water, hazardous waste, occupational safety, and environmental health regulations, with a strong preference for candidates with extensive permitting experience or chemical processes and the cleaning industry.
The EHS Regulatory Manager will lead permitting processes, oversee regulatory reporting, and collaborating with consultants, regulatory agencies, and internal teams to maintain compliance.
Key Responsibilities: Regulatory Compliance & Permitting (Primary Focus):
- Manage all environmental permits, including air, water (wastewater & stormwater), hazardous materials, and waste disposal across California, Arizona, Oregon, Texas, and Mesa.
- Strong preference for candidates with advanced experience in permitting applications, renewals, modifications, and compliance tracking, chemical process with Semi conductor cleaning.
- Ensure compliance with EPA, OSHA, Cal/OSHA, ADEQ, ODEQ, TCEQ, and other state/local agencies.
- Work with external EHS consultants to facilitate permitting, environmental compliance, and regulatory reporting.
- Serve as the primary regulatory contact, ensuring timely responses to agency inquiries, inspections, and enforcement actions.
- Oversee environmental compliance reporting, including Tier II, TRI, NPDES, SWPPP (Stormwater Pollution Prevention Plans), and Hazardous Materials Business Plans. Safety & Health Management:
- Ensure adherence to OSHA, Cal/OSHA, and workplace safety regulations, implementing policies to prevent workplace injuries and occupational hazards.
- Work closely with operations to develop and enforce permitting requirement hazard communication plans, and emergency response procedures.
- Conduct risk assessments, gap analysis and EHS audits to identify and mitigate permitting and licensing
- Provide EHS training programs for employees to ensure safety, health, and environmental compliance. compliance with RCRA, CUPA (California Unified Program Agencies), and state-specific requirements. Leadership & Team Management:
- Lead and mentor the EHS and wastewater teams, fostering professional development and compliance excellence.
- Establish key performance indicators (KPIs) to track permitting deadlines, compliance regulatory, and corrective actions. Collaboration & Compliance Strategy:
- Partner with consultants, engineers, operations, and legal teams to align EHS compliance with business objectives.
- Maintain and update compliance tracking tools to monitor regulatory changes and ensure timely action.
- Provide regulatory insights and strategic recommendations to senior leadership on permitting and compliance matters
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in environmental engineering, Environmental Science, Chemistry Processing or a related field.
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in EHS regulatory compliance, environmental permitting, and safety programs.
- Strong preference for candidates with a deep background in environmental permitting (air, wastewater, hazardous waste, stormwater, semiconductor Cleaning Process).
- Experience managing EHS and wastewater teams, with a proven ability to lead compliance initiatives.
- Experience working with consultants for permitting, compliance support, and regulatory reporting.
- Strong knowledge of EPA, and state-specific environmental regulations (ADEQ, ODEQ, TCEQ, CUPA, etc.).
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and leadership skills with the ability to manage multiple projects is a must.
- Excellent communication and relationship-building skills to liaise with regulatory agencies, consultants, and internal teams.
- Proficiency in compliance software, Microsoft Office Suite, Power BI, and environmental data management tools
