Quality Technician | East Lansing, MI

Salary Range: $43,000 - $66,000 depending on experience

The Opportunity

We are collaborating with manufacturing firms in East Lansing that are seeking skilled Quality Technicians. These organizations are dedicated to maintaining high standards and are looking for professionals who can contribute effectively. Key Responsibilities

  • Perform in-process, final, and incoming inspections of materials and products according to specifications.
  • Utilize precision measuring instruments (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges) to verify product dimensions.
  • Document inspection results accurately, including non-conformances, and maintain detailed quality records.
  • Identify and isolate non-conforming products, initiating appropriate containment and disposition procedures.
  • Assist in the investigation of root causes for quality issues and support corrective action implementation.
  • Conduct routine calibration checks and maintenance on inspection and test equipment.
  • Collaborate with production teams to address quality concerns and promote continuous improvement.

Recommended Qualifications

  • High school diploma or GED; Associate's degree in a technical field preferred.
  • 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing quality assurance or inspection role.
  • Proficiency in using precision measurement tools (e.g., calipers, micrometers, gauges).
  • Ability to read and interpret technical drawings, blueprints, and specifications.
  • Basic understanding of Statistical Process Control (SPC) and Quality Management Systems (QMS).

Bonus Qualifications

  • Experience with calibration and maintenance of measurement equipment.
  • Lean Six Sigma Yellow Belt certification or similar continuous improvement training.
  • Proficiency with Statistical Process Control (SPC) software (e.g., Minitab, JMP).
  • Experience in CMM programming and operation.
