The firm is known for its integrity, deep industry expertise, and strong relationships in the legal community. This person will join their Bankruptcy Department, supporting a team of five attorneys who handle complex creditor representation and bankruptcy matters. This role involves managing high-volume casework, maintaining precise documentation, and ensuring smooth coordination between clients, attorneys, and courts. Legal Assistant Or Paralegal Responsibilities

  • Support a group of attorneys in the bankruptcy practice, assisting with case management and client communications.
  • Prepare, review, and process a variety of legal documents and pleadings, including motions and reaffirmation agreements.
  • Handle e-filing in federal and state courts, ensuring accuracy and compliance with court rules.
  • Maintain and organize electronic and physical case files.
  • Manage calendaring, deadlines, and hearing schedules.
  • Communicate professionally with clients, opposing counsel, and court staff to coordinate case activity.
  • Review incoming emails and correspondence to identify relevant information and route appropriately.
  • Assist in general administrative duties that support the firm's attorneys and paralegal team.

Legal Assistant Or Paralegal Requirements

  • Minimum 2 years of experience as a Legal Assistant or Paralegal within bankruptcy or creditor representation.
  • Familiarity with e-filing systems, court procedures, and drafting legal documents.
  • Strong attention to detail and organizational skills to manage a high-volume caseload.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite; experience with Clio preferred.
  • Professional, team-oriented attitude and a proactive approach to problem solving.
  • Reliable, punctual, and comfortable working in a collaborative office environment.
  • Experience supporting attorneys in collections, foreclosure, or probate matters preferred
  • Paralegal certificate or associate/bachelor's degree in a legal or related field preferred
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities while maintaining a high level of accuracy preferred
