Key job responsibilities
- Running the Site Selection process, and working to improve automation and scalability
- Creating new features to improve explainability of the models to enhance user trust
- Conducting deep dives and understanding edge cases.
- Creating impactful geo-spatial visualization and tools to enable better customer understanding of labor availability.
A day in the life
This Role Provides Daily Opportunities To
Interface with business customers, including Sr Managers and Directors in Workforce Staffing, Operations, and Real Estate
Understand and communicate machine learning and other statistical techniques used to forecast future labor supply, and analyze and report model results and metadata
Own the design, development, and maintenance of models and reporting that underlie senior-level business review
About The Team
The Site Selection team conducts the labor due diligence checks as part of the process where Amazon decides to place new operations buildings. These are large one way door decisions, and our team supports Workforce Staffing in assessing labor availability Globally.
Basic Qualifications
- 3+ years of analyzing and interpreting data with Redshift, Oracle, NoSQL etc. experience
- Experience with data visualization using Tableau, Quicksight, or similar tools
- Experience with data modeling, warehousing and building ETL pipelines
- Experience in Statistical Analysis packages such as R, SAS and Matlab
- Experience using SQL to pull data from a database or data warehouse and scripting experience (Python) to process data for modeling
Preferred Qualifications
- Experience with AWS solutions such as EC2, DynamoDB, S3, and Redshift
- Experience in data mining, ETL, etc. and using databases in a business environment with large-scale, complex datasets
- Experience with forecasting and statistical analysis

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $89,600/year in our lowest geographic market up to $185,000/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company.
