Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Dietary Aide to join our team in providing exceptional food service in a healthcare setting. The ideal candidate will have experience in the food industry, particularly within assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals. As a Dietary Aide, you will play a crucial role in meal preparation and service, ensuring that residents receive nutritious and appealing meals that meet their dietary needs.

Duties

  • Assist in the preparation and serving of meals according to dietary guidelines and resident preferences.
  • Ensure proper food handling and sanitation practices are followed at all times.
  • Maintain cleanliness of the kitchen and dining areas, including washing dishes, bussing tables, and cleaning equipment.
  • Support the dietary department by managing inventory and assisting with food production tasks.
  • Communicate effectively with kitchen staff and nursing staff to ensure residents' dietary needs are met.
  • Participate in meal planning and preparation under the guidance of culinary staff.
  • Adhere to food safety regulations to guarantee the health and safety of all residents.
  • Provide excellent customer service to residents during meal service, addressing any concerns or special requests.

Qualifications

  • Previous experience as a Dietary Aide or in a similar role within assisted living, nursing homes, or hospitals is preferred.
  • Knowledge of food safety standards and sanitation practices is essential.
  • Culinary experience or training is a plus, along with familiarity with dietetics principles.
  • Strong time management skills to efficiently complete tasks within designated timelines.
  • Ability to work collaboratively as part of a team while also being able to work independently when needed.
  • Excellent customer service skills with a focus on resident satisfaction.

Pay: $ $17.00 per hour
