The Beach Haven Borough Construction Office, acting as the lead agency for a municipal interlocal, is seeking a qualified individual to serve as full-time Licensed Construction Official. This position will serve the Boroughs of Beach Haven, Surf City, Harvey Cedars, and Barnegat Light. The ideal candidate will be a highly motivated and detail-oriented professional with a strong understanding of New Jersey's Uniform Construction Code (UCC). Serve as the Construction Official for all four municipalities, overseeing the administration and enforcement of the NJ Uniform Construction Code.
Responsibilities include: reviewing construction plans, issuing permits, and performing inspections to ensure compliance with all applicable codes and regulations; maintain accurate and detailed records of all construction activities; communicate effectively with homeowners, contractors, design professionals, and municipal staff.
Qualifications: must possess a valid New Jersey Construction Official license and NJ Building Sub-code Official license is preferred. A minimum of 5 years of experience in construction, code enforcement, or a related field is preferred. Strong organizational and communication skills are essential. Must be able to work independently and as part of a team. Knowledge of municipal government operations is a plus. This is a unique opportunity to serve four beautiful and dynamic municipalities on Long Beach Island. The position offers a competitive salary and a comprehensive benefits package.
Salary Range: $85,000-$115,000.
