The Vice President/Director-level Risk Appetite Officer sought for this position will be a member of the Enterprise Risk Analytics group being part of the Combined US Operations ('CUSO') Enterprise Risk Management Team. He/she/they will report into the Head Enterprise Risk Analytics.
The Risk Appetite Officer will support the Risk Identification and Assessment (RIA) program and the Risk Appetite program. The objective of the role is to contribute to the management of transformation efforts associated with the firm's risk appetite and limit framework. This initiative encompasses an extensive set of stakeholders and activities. It involves the design and implementation of critical aspects of our RIA and risk appetite management target state, with focus on the continued alignment of our risk appetite framework to our planning processes.
The Risk Identification & Assessment program is in charge, across all types of risks incurred by Natixis Americas platform, of:
- Ensuring that the risk identification and assessment process lies on sound and reliable frameworks and systems
- Developing and overseeing adherence to methodologies, guidance and standards applicable to risk identification and assessment frameworks
- Developing methodologies to aggregate identified risks and to assess risk profiles in business lines
- Coordinating, managing, and running annual Risk Assessment (a global exercise across lines of business)
- In some cases, developing and implementing methodologies and frameworks to identify and assess certain types of risks
- Managing risk inventories, taxonomies, and other elements supporting risk identification & assessment
Day to day responsibilities include but are not limited to:
- Lead execution of components of the book of work with timely and effective outcomes against regulatory and firm expectations
- Maintain and oversee the continued maturity of the Risk Appetite Statement and develop, coordinate additional risk appetite statements where appropriate. This entails articulating risks at the enterprise level with effective challenge of 1st and 2nd lines of defense
- Partner with internal teams to support on-time delivery of program requirements and administration of issues and corrective actions
- Ensure various working groups and one-on-one contacts with stakeholders are effectively organized, administered and documented to support delivery against the key milestones in the program schedule
- Ensure quality and on-time preparation of senior management and Board-level committee materials, meeting minutes and follow-ups and materials for audit and regulatory communication
- Plan, document, direct and coordinate components of the day-to-day activities of running the program
- Enhance the risk identification and assessment framework throughout Natixis' Americas, across all risk types, including cooperation with Natixis Head Office. That may be achieved through the supervision of or participation to "change-the-bank" projects spanning across multiple teams in all lines of defence
- Run risk identification and assessment campaigns throughout Natixis 'Americas, across all risk types and all lines of defence. Challenge the outcomes and present them to senior management
- Develop risk identification and assessment methodologies and frameworks, coordinate with Natixis Head Office when needed, and oversee their application, across all risk types and lines of defence
- Developing ad-hoc reports using analysis of large datasets
- Develop synergies between the RIA program and the Risk Appetite program, and with other ERM teams (Governance and Reporting, Stress Testing) incorporating key outcomes in day-to-day processes and accomplishment
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree, MBA a plus.
- Five+ years' experience of working in financial services, preferably in a risk environment
- Previous experience of working in an international bank operating in the US would be an advantage.
- Understanding of key activities linked to a financial institution operating a large number of capital markets and lending activities, investment management activities in the Americas, and asset & wealth management business

The salary range for the Director level position will be between $155,000 - $185,000. Natixis is required by law to include a reasonable estimate of the compensation range for this role. Actual base salary will vary and will be based on several factors including, but not limited to, relevant experience, education, skills set, applicable licensure and certifications, and other business and organizational needs. Base salary is only one component of our total rewards package. Natixis also offers a generous benefits package, and you may be eligible for a discretionary incentive award depending on company and individual performance.
