A global electronics machinery manufacturer are seeking a Japanese / English Bilingual Customer Service Representative to support communication and coordination between our headquarters in Japan and our branch office in Andover, MA. This role is essential for ensuring smooth business operations, accurate information flow, and high-quality customer support for both internal and external stakeholders. his position will start as part-time and may transition to a full-time role for the right candidate.

Japanese / English Bilingual Customer Service Representative Key Responsibilities

  • Serve as the primary communication bridge between the Japan headquarters and the MA branch, ensuring timely and accurate information exchange.
  • Provide customer service support to clients, handling inquiries, order processing, and product information in both Japanese and English.
  • Prepare and respond to Requests for Quotations, Purchase Orders, Invoices and Shipping Documents.
  • Coordinate with internal engineering, sales, and logistics teams to resolve customer issues and meet delivery or service requirements.
  • Translate documents, emails, and technical information between Japanese and English as needed.
  • Support preparation of reports, presentations, and documentation for management and cross-functional teams.
  • Maintain customer records, update databases, and assist in tracking ongoing projects and service requests.
  • Assist with administrative tasks and cross-department communication to ensure smooth daily operations.
  • Other duties as assigned

Japanese / English Bilingual Customer Service Representative Requirements

  • Previous experience in a customer service role, preferably in the machinery industry proffered.
  • Business-level proficiency in both Japanese and English (speaking, reading, and writing). Japanese skill is must be at lease JLPT N1 or above level.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills with the ability to work in a multicultural environment.
  • Excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, and ability to manage multiple tasks simultaneously.
  • Proficiency with standard office software (Microsoft Office Suite, email systems, etc.).
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with teams across different time zones.
