Overview

Job Summary 

The Technical Accounting Manager will have overall responsibility for the management and maintenance of accounting and reporting for multiple corporate entities, both domestic and international. This individual should possess a high degree of professionalism, strong interpersonal skills, attention to detail and ideally a medical accounting background. 

Responsibilities

Essential Job Duties and Responsibilities 

  • Ownership and management of the consolidated month, quarter and year-end close. 
  • Manage the preparation of daily and month-end journal entries 
  • Maintain all aspects of the general ledger and review account reconciliation and analysis as required 
  • Manage the production of individual and consolidated financial statements 
  • Strong involvement with FP&A and Tax functions 
  • Management of relationship with external accounting firm 
  • Hire, train, manage and review work of staff 
  • Manage transactional accounting activities: AR, AP, Payroll 
  • Continuous process review and improvement 
  • Ad-hoc projects, analysis, and reporting 
  • Other duties as assigned

Qualifications

Education and/or Experience 

  • BA/BS in Accounting or Finance required 
  • 4+ years' experience with significant accounting responsibilities 
  • Must have GAAP experience 
  • CPA strongly desired 
  • Previous management experience in an accounting capacity 
  • GL conversion experience 
  • Significant reconciliation experience 

Skills/Specialized Knowledge 

  • Strong analytical skills and ability to work independently 
  • Detail oriented and demonstrates a "can-do" positive attitude 
  • Ability to work cooperatively and manage a team 
  • Self-starter with solid organizational skills and ability to effectively manage multiple priorities or reprioritization.
  • Must maintain professional appearance. '

  • Ability to be at work on a regular and consistent basis

Physical and Mental Demands 

This position will spend long hours sitting and using office equipment and computers. The position may also entail light lifting of supplies and materials occasionally, up to and including 20 pounds in addition to reaching, stooping, standing, and walking. This position requires the ability to talk, hear, compare, compute, compile, copy, analyze, coordinate, synthesize, negotiate and communicate. Work Environment 

Standard office working environment that may be busy and noisy at times.
