Overview:

A high-volume automotive dealership group is seeking an experienced Inventory / Dealer Trade Manager to oversee and optimize vehicle inventory across multiple rooftops. The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience coordinating dealer-to-dealer trades, maintaining accurate inventory records, and supporting dealership sales goals through strategic vehicle sourcing and allocation.

Experience Required:

  • MUST HAVE prior experience with Dealer-to-Dealer Inventory Trades
  • DD365 experience strongly preferred
Key Responsibilities:

Vehicle Trading & Inventory Management

  • Negotiate and execute dealer-to-dealer vehicle trades to maintain a balanced inventory aligned with market demand.
  • Monitor inventory levels, analyze sales trends, and identify vehicles needed to support sales objectives.
  • Stay informed on market trends, vehicle values, and regional demand to make data-driven trading decisions.

Relationship Management

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with dealerships to ensure efficient trade execution.
  • Collaborate closely with sales, finance, and service teams to ensure traded vehicles meet quality and presentation standards.

Documentation & Compliance

  • Manage all trade documentation, including titles, bills of sale, and related paperwork, ensuring full compliance with state and federal regulations.
  • Verify inventory accuracy by reconciling physical units with system records.

Profitability & Reporting

  • Negotiate favorable trade terms and control costs related to transportation and reconditioning.
  • Prepare and deliver regular reports on inventory status, trade activity, and market insights to management.

Lot & Team Oversight

  • Oversee the organization and presentation of vehicles to ensure optimal display and accessibility.
  • Ensure all vehicles are clean, fueled, and ready for customer viewings and test drives.
  • Supervise lot attendants, assign daily responsibilities, and maintain overall lot safety and organization.
  • Coordinate timely vehicle movement between departments, storage, and partner dealerships.

Customer Experience & Presentation

  • Maintain a professional and customer-friendly lot environment.
  • Oversee signage, pricing, and promotional materials to support the sales process.
  • Support the sales department with vehicle availability and presentation as needed.
Qualifications:
  • Proven experience managing dealer-to-dealer inventory trades.
  • Strong negotiation and communication skills.
  • High attention to detail with excellent organizational abilities.
  • Proficiency with DD365 or comparable dealership management software.
  • Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
  • Valid driver's license and clean driving record required.
