You will grind and smooth areas of metal parts to remove defects, sharp edges, scratches, and excess material. The ideal candidate

  • Must have a strong work ethic and excellent attendance
  • Good overall physical condition
  • Able to do a long shift in full PPE (apron, long sleeves, disposable respirator, safety glasses, shield, steel toe shoes)
  • Can use a 5" and 7" grinder to grind and prepare a welded joint for paint. Knows the sandpaper grades needed
  • Knows how to use a DA sander and various grades of sandpaper to create a surface ready to paint
  • Knows how to use a die grinder and tools to clean and prepare an inside corner for paint
  • Can use a hammer and dolly to straighten areas before and while grinding work is being done
  • Understands how heat effects metal
  • Understands how grinding can affect the strength and appearance of metal.

Job Type: Full-time
