Discount Drug Mart is currently looking for a full-time Staff or Floater Pharmacist to join our team in the Mansfield, OH area.

Floaters must be willing to travel to different locations (up to 1 hour commute) ~Pay Drive Time Policy~

• Locations may include: Mansfield, Ashland, Shelby, Galion, Willard, Lodi, and Medina
• Must be available to work flexible hours
• Schedules are made 30 days in advance

Responsibilities:

The Pharmacist is responsible for dispensing prescribed pharmaceuticals, providing information and counseling to customers while maintaining outstanding customer service and safeguarding company assets.

• Practice the profession of pharmacy in a manner consistent with ORC Chapter 4729 and all state and federal laws and regulations.
• Identifies current and future customer requirements, establishing rapport with potential and actual customers and providing excellent customer service.
• Utilizes alarm code upon entering and leaving pharmacy.
• Completes store operational requirements that include scheduling/assigning employees and following up on work results, along with maintaining store staff by recruiting, selecting, orienting, and training employees. Also responsible for maintaining staff job results by coaching, counseling, and disciplining employees.
• Interpret, data entry, review, fill, check, dispense, and accept responsibility for prescriptions written by physicians for our patients.
• Prepares or supervises the preparation of liquid medicines, ointments, powders, tablets and other medication along with checking prescriptions for correct dosage and for drug interactions and incompatibilities. Compounds prescribed medicines and packages and labels them.
• Stores and preserves vaccines, serums, and other drugs subject to deterioration.
• Maintains records, such as pharmacy files, patient profiles, charge system files, inventories, control records for radioactive nuclei, and registries of poisons, narcotics, and controlled drugs.
• Ensures availability of merchandise and services and maintains inventories.
• Provides immunization services (counseling, selection, and immunizing).
• Provides Medication Therapy Management

Qualifications/Experience for the Staff Pharmacist:

To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily.

• • Pharmacists must successfully pass a background check and drug screen
• • Possess a valid pharmacist license with the state of Ohio
• • Immunization Certified through an organization that meets the requirements established in OAC ,
• • Current certification to preform basic life support procedures and/or the ability to successfully complete a basic life-support training course certified by American Red Cross or American Heart Association.
