Description
CLINICAL PSYCHOLOGIST FOR CENTER FOR STRESS, RESILIENCE AND PERSONAL GROWTH
The Mount Sinai Center for Stress, Resilience and Personal Growth (CSRPG), a highly dynamic and
innovative clinical service within the Department of Psychiatry at the Icahn School of Medicine at Mount
Sinai, is seeking a New York State licensed clinical psychologist (PhD/PsyD) to join the program as a
faculty member. CSRPG takes a multi-disciplinary approach to address the needs of Mount Sinai's
healthcare workers, their adult dependents, and the broader community. A primary goal of CSRPG is to
help our workers recover from their mental health concerns and even become more resilient, thereby
helping to ensure the future of our health care system. We also specialize in supporting members of the
community in recovering from acute stressors, depression, anxiety, and posttraumatic stress disorder,
with an emphasis on building long-term resilience. As part of this work, the Center offers its own mental
health treatment services to better serve the diverse population of Mount Sinai employees and their
families. CSRPG also offers resilience training, confidential consultations, and a resilience-building
resource app.
Responsibilities
The psychologist's primary responsibilities would be to conduct mental health intakes and provide
individual psychotherapy. The psychologist will work closely with other faculty members of the program
and our team of licensed clinical social workers to deliver psychotherapeutic treatments within an
outpatient faculty practice model, which integrates principles of measurement-based care. There would
also be opportunities to facilitate resilience training workshops, conduct on-site resilience-building
huddles, and to assist with clinical research projects.
The psychologist in this full-time position will devote 23-26 hours per week to evidence-based individual
care. The remainder of the 37.5-hour work week will include attending meetings and supervisions, case
management, documentation, and liaising with primary care practices to support employee referrals.
Responsibilities and distribution of effort may change based on the Center's needs.
At present, therapy is provided largely via telehealth, with some in-person visits by patient request. We
have a hybrid model, with staff reporting to one of our locations at 150 East 42nd Street or 1240 Park
Avenue two days per week and working three days remotely. Some scheduling flexibility is required, and
staff must be able to offer 4 appointment slots from 5-7 pm and/or 7-9 am, as needed by patients. The
remaining days will be 9-5.
Qualifications
Applicants should have aptitude in the delivery of evidence-based treatments for mood and anxiety
disorders, including cognitive-behavioral therapy for depression, anxiety, and PTSD. Through not
required, applicants who are bilingual, have training in DBT and/or ACT, experience with maternal
mental health, and/or a background in health psychology are strongly encouraged to apply.
Compensation range from 120K to 145K (not including bonuses / incentive compensation or benefits)
