Summary:

The Guidance Center is a non-profit organization. We are a Community Behavioral Health Center. The Guidance Center is currently seeking a Payroll & Purchasing Specialist to become part of the team. The Payroll & Purchasing Specialist is a dual-function role that supports both payroll operations and procurement processess. The individual will ensure accurate and timely payroll processing, while also managing purchasing activities such as requisitions, vendor, relations, and purchase orders.

Job Duties:

  • Process regular pauroll runs, including calculations of net pay, deducations, benefits changes, and tax withholding.
  • Validate timecards, attendance records, and employee hours to ensure accurate wage calculations,
  • Work with supervisors to finalize and reconcile payroll variances.
  • Maintain and update payroll records( employee data, accruals, transfers, etc.).
  • Reconcile payroll data, investigate discrepancies, and handle payroll-related inquiries.
  • Make federal and state taxes timely.
  • Maintain strict and confidentiality regarding employee compensation and payroll information.
  • Assist with year-end payroll tasks (W-2s/1099s, audits, reporting).
  • Handle garninshments, child support order, and other mandatory withholdings according to legal requirements.
  • Process purchase requisitions, create purchase orders, review vendor invoices for accuracy, code invoices appropriately.
  • Develop and maintain vendor relationships; solicit and evaluate vendor quotes to support cost-effective purchasing.
  • Ensure procurement activities comply with company policy, budgets, and procedures.
  • Maintain purchasing records, vendor files, contract documents, and assist in procurement audits.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent
  • Proficient in Microsoft suite, and Google Enterprise
  • Prior payroll/purchasing experience
  • High level of accuracy and attention to detail
  • Experience with ADP payroll software
  • Ability to handle confidential information with discretion
