Support Mercedes-Benz AG emissions OBD certification for the North American market. As the final quality gate, ensure all CARB OBD functional requirements are met during Production Vehicle Evaluation.

Job Responsibilities

  • Learn and conduct CARB OBD production vehicle evaluation (PVE) activities at MBRDNA in close coordination with our operative certification & relevant RD teams.
  • Plan and coordinate resources for testing (vehicle, manpower, test cells, equipment). Generate detailed test plans and schedules with support of the team leader.
  • Conduct testing, investigate and identify issues firsthand, determine root causes, and develop countermeasures in a team environment. Working together with PVE team members, ensure OBD regulation conformity.
  • Analyze data, summarize results, and prepare reports for internal customers and external regulatory agencies.
  • Build upon, or newly develop tools and systems for testing and data acquisition to improve quality and efficiency.

Minimum Qualifications

  • B.S. mechanical, electrical, or automotive engineering
  • 3+ years of relevant work experience
  • Knowledge of powertrain systems, preferably including diesel and gasoline engine emissions and OBD systems, regulatory requirements
  • Experience with testing and data acquisition systems, preferably in the automotive field
  • Experience investigating issues firsthand with strong analysis and problem solving abilities
  • Detail-oriented mindset for planning and program management
  • Ability and initiative to optimize and continuously improve processes for quality and efficiency
  • Ability to communicate and work in a diverse multicultural environment
  • Valid US Driver's License

Preferred Qualifications

  • Experience with use and programming of automated testing and data analysis tools (ie. LabVIEW, MATLAB, Simulink, python)
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office Suite (Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
