Position Summary
The Senior Staff Accountant will play a key role in maintaining accurate financial records, preparing monthly reporting packages, and supporting audits and compliance across RENU's expanding portfolio. This role is ideal for someone who thrives in a fast-paced, high-growth environment and takes pride in precision, process improvement, and ownership of their work.
The ideal candidate has strong general ledger experience, understands property-level accounting, and is eager to partner cross-functionally with Operations and Corporate leadership.
Key Responsibilities
- Prepare and review monthly journal entries, account reconciliations, and accruals.
- Support the monthly close process to ensure accurate and timely reporting across multiple entities.
- Maintain general ledger integrity, including intercompany eliminations and balance sheet reconciliations.
- Assist with preparation of internal financial statements and variance analysis.
- Review property-level financials in collaboration with Operations and Asset Management teams.
- Coordinate with external CPA firms during annual audits and tax filings.
- Support process improvements within accounting systems and workflows.
- Assist in implementing automation or reporting enhancements within AppFolio and other integrated systems.
- Ensure compliance with GAAP standards and internal controls.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required.
- 5–7 years of accounting experience; property management or real estate industry experience strongly preferred.
- Strong knowledge of GAAP and month-end close processes.
- Proficiency in accounting software; experience with AppFolio a plus.
- Advanced Excel or Google Sheets skills (pivot tables, lookups, reconciliations).
- Strong attention to detail, accuracy, and deadlines.
- Self-starter with excellent organizational and communication skills.
Compensation & Benefits
- Salary: $75,000–$80,000, based on experience.
