Our client,
a leader in gas & electric utilities,
is hiring a
Senior Data Engineer
to join their team in
Columbus, Ohio

**This is a 5-month W2 contract with benefits** (contract-to-hire)

As the
Senior Data Engineer
, you will join the
Enterprise Data Lake Agile team to design, build, and maintain core data infrastructure supporting enterprise-wide data ingestion and analytics
.

Responsibilities:

  • Design, program, deploy, and maintain data engineering solutions
    and
    cloud components
  • Participate in the
    full software development lifecycle
    —requirements analysis, design, coding, testing, deployment, and maintenance
  • Analyze and modify existing systems, troubleshoot errors, and optimize performance
    and costs
  • Write technical specifications, document functionality
    , and ensure adherence to coding and security standards
  • Collaborate with other data engineers
    through code reviews, pair programming, and Agile team ceremonies

Desired Skills & Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related technical field.
  • 5+ years of software engineering experience with languages such as
    C, C++, C#, or Java
    .
  • Proficiency with
    Azure Data Lake, Azure Data Factory, and Databricks
    .
  • Strong understanding of
    cloud security
    , including
    Active Directory, network security groups, and encryption services
    .
  • Experience developing and maintaining data solutions in
    Python
    (open to candidates with limited experience).
  • Hands-on experience with
    unit testing, integration testing, and performance testing
    .
