Position Summary:

We are seeking a skilled and motivated Design Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will bring strong technical proficiency, attention to detail, and the flexibility to adapt to changing project demands.

Primary Responsibilities:

Key Responsibilities

  • Accurately measure and record physical part dimensions using calipers, micrometers, and other precision instruments
  • Develop detailed 3D CAD models in Fusion 360 based on physical measurements and design intent
  • Produce clear and accurate 2D fabrication and assembly drawings to support production and customer deliverables
  • Assemble multiple components virtually to ensure fit within enclosures or housings and resolve any design conflicts

Required Qualifications:

  • Proficient in Autodesk Fusion 360 for 3D modeling and drawing creation.
  • 0-4 years of CAD experience.
  • Associate's degree, tech certificate, or equivalent experience
  • Solid working knowledge of Microsoft Office (PowerPoint, Excel)
  • Strong mechanical aptitude and problem-solving skills
  • High attention to detail, with a commitment to quality and accuracy
  • Excellent organizational and time-management skills
  • Ability to work independently and collaborate within a small, cross-functional team

Working Conditions & Requirements:

  • The expected workload is 20 hours per week, with potential for increased hours during time-sensitive projects
  • On-site presence required approximately one day a week, with occasional local travel to client sites for field measurements, installations, or collaborative design sessions.
  • Work is performed in a fabrication shop and light industrial setting, with exposure to machinery, tools, and raw materials
  • Must be capable of working safely around CNC machines, lasers, and other industrial equipment, following all safety protocols
  • Responsible for maintaining a clean, organized, and safe work environment

Job Type: Part-time

Pay: $ $30.00 per hour

Expected hours: 20 per week
