This Service Engineer position reports to the Senior Manager of Engineering/ Prototype and Engineering Support.
The focus of this position is to troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade complex instruments, provide assistance with testing and troubleshooting in a variety of engineering tasks.
- Assist in troubleshooting, assembling, and retrofitting prototypes, and working with electrical and mechanical devices, electrical wiring, fluidics components, schematics and technical drawings.
- Assist with engineering related studies, processes, designs, inspections and/or quality audits.
- Provide assistance with gathering, recording and maintaining engineering specific information.
Responsibilities
- Troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade complex diagnostic equipment during all stages of development at R&D sites, OEM manufacturers, and Customer sites.
- Work closely with and provide feedback to R&D engineers, Manufacturing, Assay development, and Service.
- Working with electrical/mechanical/chemistry devices.
- Provide assistance with gathering, recording and maintaining engineering specific information, provide feedback regarding instrument issues found to Engineering, Manufacturing, and Service
- Recording and maintaining engineering specific information in accordance with FDA regulations.
- Occasional off-shift hours may be required.
Required Knowledge/Skills/Education/Experience
- Proven ability to troubleshoot, repair, and upgrade complex instrument
- Proven Customer service skills
- Familiar with diagnostic instrument software and remote access diagnostics.
- At least 5 years experience troubleshooting hardware and software issues in a Field service or R&D environment
- Bachelor's degree in engineering (electrical, mechanical, BioMed) preferred.
- Able and willing to travel, up to 30% travel.

The base pay range for this position is:
Min $107,060 - Max $160,580
Factors which may affect starting pay within this range may include geography/market, skills, education, experience, and other qualifications of the successful candidate.
If this is a commission eligible position the commission eligibility will be in accordance with the terms of the Company's plan. Commissions are based on individual performance and/or company performance.
