Job Description
Primary Function of Position
Reporting to an engineering team lead, this role supports the development, prototyping, and maintenance of software tools for Intuitive products in the field. The position is responsible for scoping, designing, and implementing robust software applications and tools that facilitate field service operations and data management for robotic systems. Key functions include collaborating with cross-functional engineering teams to ensure scalable software solutions, enhancing data pipelines and service interfaces, and contributing to the development and refinement of requirements and technical documentation. Success in this role will be measured by the quality, reliability, and usability of the delivered software solutions, directly impacting the effectiveness and efficiency of both field service and field service software teams.
Essential Job Duties
- Scope, design, and implement applications, tools, and new functionality to support field service of our robots and the data generated during service.
- Develop and enhance processes and interfaces with service software packages, robotic interfaces, test algorithms, and data pipelines.
- Assist in the development and documentation of effective requirements for the applications.
- Collaborate with other software engineers to ensure that the design and implementation for common software components can be effectively shared.
- Experience with all aspects of the software development life cycle: Planning, Requirements, Design, Development, Testing, Deployment, Maintenance
- Proficiency in Python
- Proficiency in object-oriented programming
- Experience with Windows
Qualifications
Required Education and Training
- Bachelor's degree in Computer Science or Engineering, Biomedical Engineering, or related field
- 8+ years of software engineering experience

- Experience with cloud infrastructure and deployment (e.g. AWS, Azure)
- Experience with CI/CD integrations

We provide market-competitive compensation packages, inclusive of base pay, incentives, benefits, and equity. It would not be typical for someone to be hired at the top end of range for the role, as actual pay will be determined based on several factors, including experience, skills, and qualifications. The target compensation ranges are listed.
Base Salary Range Region 1:
$180,400 - $259,600
Base Salary Range Region 2:
$153,300 - $220,700
