Takeout Server Job Description

Job Title: Takeout Server

Reports To: Restaurant Manager / Shift Supervisor

Job Type: Part-time / Full-time

Job Summary:

A Takeout Server is responsible for ensuring accurate and efficient handling of to-go orders while providing excellent customer service. This role involves taking orders, packaging food, processing payments, and ensuring that guests have a smooth and pleasant takeout experience. The ideal candidate is organized, detail-oriented, and capable of working in a fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Greet customers warmly and assist with takeout orders in person or over the phone.

  • Accurately take food and beverage orders and input them into the system.

  • Ensure all takeout orders are properly prepared, packaged, and checked for accuracy.

  • Handle payment transactions, including cash, credit cards, and mobile payments.

  • Coordinate with kitchen staff to ensure timely preparation of orders.

  • Maintain cleanliness and organization of the takeout area.

  • Address customer inquiries and resolve any order issues professionally.

  • Assist with online or third-party delivery app orders.

  • Follow food safety and sanitation guidelines.

Qualifications & Skills:

  • Prior restaurant or customer service experience preferred.

  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.

  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment and multitask.

  • Basic math and cash-handling skills.

  • Familiarity with point-of-sale (POS) systems is a plus.

  • Must be able to stand for extended periods and lift up to 25 lbs.

Work Schedule:

  • Flexible shifts, including evenings, weekends, and holidays.

  • Part-time and full-time positions available.
