Pipe Yard Helper

Position is primarily responsible for assisting the forklift operator with loading/unloading product onto or from trucks, and moving pipe within the yard.

QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Ability to pass a background check and drug screen
  • Ability to work flexible and/or extended hours and weekends
  • Stable work history, preferably in an industrial environment
  • Reliable transportation
  • Committed to working safely at all times including a commitment to the policies and procedures of the operation
  • Positive attitude; good team player

Responsibilities:

  • Assist with the loading and unloading of materials and equipment from trucks and containers.
  • Operate forklifts, pallet jacks, and clamp trucks to move materials safely within the yard.
  • Utilize RF scanners for inventory management and order picking processes.
  • Maintain organization of the yard by ensuring materials are stored correctly and safely.
  • Support shipping and receiving operations by preparing materials for transport.
  • Perform heavy lifting as required, adhering to safety protocols at all times.
  • Collaborate with warehouse supervisors to ensure compliance with OSHA regulations and company policies.
  • Participate in regular maintenance checks on equipment to ensure operational efficiency.
  • Assist in inventory counts and help maintain accurate records within the warehouse management system.

Requirements

  • Previous experience in warehouse distribution or related fields is preferred.
  • Familiarity with heavy equipment operation, including cranes and forklifts.
  • Knowledge of materials handling techniques and safety practices, particularly OSHA standards.
  • Mechanical knowledge is a plus, especially regarding maintenance of warehouse equipment.
  • Experience with order picking processes using RF scanners or similar technology.
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting (up to 50 pounds) consistently throughout the shift.
  • Strong organizational skills with attention to detail for effective inventory management.
  • Experience in shipping & receiving operations is beneficial.
