Introduction

The DET Bureau of Application Services, Partnered Solutions section is hiring for a .NET Developer

All employees are expected to live and work in Wisconsin. This position will have the option of working remotely upon agreement of the supervisor but may be asked to come into the office periodically. This schedule may change based on operational needs and organizational requirements.

Position Summary

Under the general supervision of the Partnered Solutions Supervisor, in the Division of Enterprise Technology (DET), this position is responsible for providing an advanced level of technical knowledge for planning, development, security and implementation and administration of applications and support services that have statewide impact. This includes research, standardization, deployment, administration, and support of all relative tools associated with a particular application, customer or client.

This includes analyzing, designing, planning, building and state of the art applications, tracking emerging technologies, researching new products, and planning for future systems on a proactive basis for internal and enterprise-wide applications. This position is expected to use a combination of programming knowledge, threat management, and communication skills to automate and integrate cybersecurity at every stage of the DevSecOps process. Knowledge of best practices within the secure software development framework (i.e., NIST SSDF, ISO or similar approaches are critical to developing secure systems.

This position's main responsibility is application design, development, security, testing, implementation, support and maintenance. In addition, the position is responsible for the coordination and support of application enhancements, maintenance, and problem resolution. It provides technical expertise to information technology (IT) project managers, IT enterprise consultants, technical support specialists, customers, and vendors regarding applications. Salary Information

Starting salary for the IS Systems Development Services Specialist will be between $35.19- $53.97 an hour, depending on applicant qualifications. A 12-month probationary period is required. Pay for current state employees will be in accordance with the State Compensation Plan.

Job Details

Due to the nature of the position, DOA will conduct fingerprinting and/or background checks on applicants prior to selection. DOA does not sponsor work visas. In compliance with federal law, all persons hired will be required to verify identity and eligibility to work in the United States, and to complete the required employment eligibility form upon hire.

All employees are expected to live and work in Wisconsin. Certain positions within this Department may allow remote/work from home flexibility for a portion of their work schedule, depending on the needs of the position and the work unit. Qualifications

Minimally qualified candidates will have experience with the following:

  • Developing and maintaining NET Framework\Core web applications.
  • Developing and maintaining SQL Server databases.

In addition, well qualified candidates will have experience in:

  • Agile software development methodologies (e.g., Scrum)
  • DevOps tools and a general understanding of DevOps concepts (e.g., Azure)
  • SQL Server Integration Services
  • Telerik Kendo UI and Reports
