Help Desk/Microsoft Based Network Support Assistant

Walters Balido & Crain, an AV rated Dallas based civil litigation multi-office law firm with primary office located in the North Dallas Central Expressway corridor, has an opening for a full-time on-site Help Desk/Network Support Assistant. The firm's proposed weekly schedule for this position would be from 8:00 a.m. until 4:30p.m., Monday through Friday. A desirable candidate will be organized and work with a sense of urgency. Must be able to communicate clearly and effectively with co-workers and computer system users. The candidate in this position will be working under the supervision of a full-time IT professional. In addition to Microsoft-based network support and help desk-related responsibilities, this employee will also assist as needed with moving and setting up computers and computer peripheral devices such as printers, monitors, etc. The physical demands described are representative of those that must be met by an employee to successfully perform the essential functions of this job – required to sit for extended periods of time; frequently required to stand, walk, and use business equipment daily such as PC, copier/printer; required to reach overhead, bend, and lift objects of up to 50 lbs. daily. Responsibilities
- Professionally handle incoming Help Desk requests by phone, email and in person
- Identify and notify IT Management of situations requiring urgent attention.
- Have an above average knowledge of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Outlook
- Provide technical assistance and support for incoming queries and issues related to computer systems and software.
- Resolve moderately complex problems and issues under general supervision.
- Use appropriate judgment and follow company policies when sharing sensitive information.
- Notify supervisor of issues or concerns regarding quality, confidentiality, or risk
Education and Qualifications
- Moderate IT experience (2+ plus years)
- Prior Law Firm or Professional Services Firm experience considered a plus
- Degree not required
- Think and act quickly
- Customer-service focused
- Strong problem-solving skills
- Learn and adapt quickly
- Work and remain calm under pressure
