What You'll Be Doing

• Supervise installation and start-up of high-tech machines at customer locations
• Travel nationwide to perform troubleshooting, maintenance, and repair on machines (warranty and non-warranty)
• Fabricate on-site, including welding, layout, and sheet metal work
• Diagnose and resolve electrical and mechanical issues
• Collaborate with in-house manufacturing teams to identify and resolve potential field service problems
• Train both customers and fellow employees on machine operation and best practices
• Prepare detailed service reports and provide feedback to internal teams
• Support the Technical Service Manager and Field Service Supervisor with special projects and initiatives

What We're Looking For

• Experience: 5–7 years of hands-on factory experience, including welding and machine installation
• Education: High school diploma or equivalent
• Skills: Mechanical and electrical troubleshooting; Fabrication, welding, and layout skills; Strong communication — both written and verbal; Able to perform physical tasks (lift up to 50 lbs, kneel, climb, bend, etc.); Basic math skills and solid reasoning ability
• Flexibility: Must be comfortable with frequent travel (65-75%)
• It would be a plus if you have experience training others in the use of complex machinery

Work Environment

Expect to work in a traditional shop setting as well as on-site at customer plants. You'll need to be comfortable with temperature variations, noise, and occasional exposure to fumes or dust depending on the location.

Application Question(s):

• Do you have a technical degree in electrical or mechanical technology?
• Do you have 2+ years of PLC experience and working knowledge of computers, databases, and common software programs? Experience with Allen-Bradley, Siemens, Unitronics, Visilogix, and/or Unilogixs preferred.
• This position will require several two-week trips to Jamestown NY over the first 3-4 months of employment for training. Is this something you are able to commit to?
