Job Overview

We are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Retail Associate to join our dynamic team. In this role, you will be the face of our store, providing exceptional customer service and ensuring a positive shopping experience for all customers. Your ability to communicate effectively and engage with customers will be key in driving sales and fostering customer loyalty.

Duties

  • Greet customers warmly and assist them in locating products within the store.
  • Provide knowledgeable information about products and services to enhance the customer experience.
  • Cut fabric orders per customer specifications and properly calculate the price for the customer.
  • Utilize retail math skills to assist customers with pricing inquiries and product promotions.
  • Engage in upselling techniques to maximize sales opportunities while maintaining customer satisfaction.
  • Maintain a clean and organized sales floor, ensuring merchandise is well-displayed and stocked.
  • Offer assistance lifting sewing machines to other staff and customers and in receiving fabric orders (you must be able to lift 40 lbs. comfortably)
  • Handle customer inquiries and resolve issues promptly, demonstrating excellent customer service skills.
  • Operate the cash register efficiently, handling cash and credit transactions accurately and responsibly.
  • Follow store policies regarding cash handling and security procedures.

Skills

  • Basic but proficient math skills for accurate transaction processing and retail calculations.
  • Strong communication skills with the ability to connect with diverse customers.
  • Proficient in cash register operation and cash handling procedures.
  • Excellent phone etiquette for handling customer calls professionally.
  • Proven ability to upsell products effectively while maintaining a focus on customer needs.
  • A genuine passion for providing outstanding customer service in a retail environment.
