I.  Description

Hexagon Capital Alliance LLC ("HCA") is currently seeking an Investment Banking Analyst in our Orange County office for a two-year analyst training program. As an analyst, you will develop investment banking skills by working directly with senior and junior investment bankers on a range of client and marketing-related activities across a broad range of industries, including performing research, financial analysis, and preparing presentation materials. II.  Essential Duties and Responsibilities

  • Research, analyze and document qualitative and quantitative trends in target industry sectors
  • Analyze capital markets and mergers and acquisitions activity in target sectors
  • Identify and research companies in target industry sectors with a history of acquisitions, including their current strategic objectives
  • Assist senior and junior investment bankers with the M&A transaction process
  • Prepare marketing documents and pitch books
  • Build financial models for use in transactions
  • Create buyer and/or target lists
  • Assist in managing online data rooms
  • Manage and assist the due diligence effort for both buyers and sellers
  • Assist in organizing the operations of a transaction closing
  • Assist in producing monthly industry and market reports

III.  Special Skills, Knowledge, Abilities, Training, or Special Licenses / Certifications Required

  • Thorough understanding of financial statement analysis and accounting principals
  • Excellent working knowledge of Excel, Word, and PowerPoint
  • Possess an ability to analyze a business situation using financial models
  • Excellent writing skills, including business writing acumen
  • Ability to use research tools, databases, and other resources
  • Skilled at researching and collecting information on-line, via telephone, and during in-person meetings
  • Demonstrated attributes of integrity, team player, aptitude to lead, eagerness to learn, strong work ethic, and executive presence
  • Strong project management, organizational skills, attention to detail, and team-oriented

IV.  Education and Experience

Education:
Bachelor's degree from four-year undergraduate university with an emphasis in Accounting or Finance required

Experience:
One to two years with investment banking firm or comparable financial services firm required
