About This Role
At iRhythm, we are redefining how cardiac care is delivered through innovation, data, and compassion. As a Director of Clinical Operations, you will play a critical role in scaling our production-based clinical operations to meet growing patient demand while ensuring exceptional quality, compliance, and experience.

We are looking for a strategic, growth-minded leader who thrives in high-volume environments, inspires operational excellence, and brings a strong foundation in medical device, medtech, or healthcare production operations.

What You Will Be Doing

  • Lead and Inspire: Oversee a team of 200+ clinical operations professionals, cultivating a high-performance, patient-centric culture grounded in accountability, engagement, and continuous improvement.
  • Drive Operational Excellence: Streamline workflows and production processes to improve throughput, quality, and efficiency in a fast-paced, high-volume clinical environment.
  • Strategic Leadership: Shape the operational strategy to support iRhythm's rapid growth, scaling infrastructure, and optimizing delivery models to meet evolving business and patient needs.
  • Develop Leaders: Coach and mentor frontline and mid-level managers, strengthening leadership capability and building a robust pipeline for succession and growth.
  • Champion Compliance & Quality: Partner cross-functionally with Clinical Quality, Systems Development, and Regulatory to ensure adherence to standards and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Optimize Resources: Manage fiscal performance, capacity planning, and resource allocation to maximize operational efficiency and financial stewardship.
  • Collaborate Cross-Functionally: Build strong partnerships with HR, Talent Acquisition, and functional leaders to attract, retain, and develop top talent.
  • Innovate for Scale: Lead transformation initiatives that introduce technology, automation, and best practices into daily operations to enhance speed, accuracy, and patient impact.
  • Measure What Matters: Establish and track KPIs for performance, quality, and patient experience; communicate outcomes to executive leadership and drive accountability.

What We Want To See

  • Experience and Expertise

  • At least 10 years of progressive leadership in clinical operations, production operations, or related functions within the medical device, medtech, or biotech industry.

  • Proven success managing large-scale, non-exempt workforces (150–200+ employees) in a regulated, production-driven environment.
  • Strong record of operational transformation, scaling teams, and process optimization to support business growth.

  • Leadership and Mindset

  • Strategic and forward-thinking leader with a growth mindset and ability to drive change in a complex, matrixed organization.

  • Adept at inspiring and developing people leaders, fostering engagement, inclusion, and continuous improvement.
  • Hands-on and decisive—comfortable rolling up your sleeves while maintaining a strategic lens.

  • Operational Acumen

  • Deep understanding of clinical production workflows, capacity planning, performance metrics, and operational rigor.

  • Strong business acumen, with the ability to translate data and insights into decisions that drive outcomes.
  • Experience leading process standardization, workflow optimization, and cross-functional alignment initiatives.

  • Collaboration & Communication

  • Highly collaborative and able to influence across functions and levels, from front-line teams to senior leadership.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to simplify complex concepts and drive clarity.

Actual compensation may vary depending on job-related factors including knowledge, skills, experience, and work location.

Estimated Pay Range
$190,0000 - $240,000
