Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled Heavy Equipment Mechanic to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive experience in diagnosing, repairing, and maintaining a wide range of heavy machinery and industrial equipment. This role requires a strong mechanical background, proficiency with OEM parts and schematics, and the ability to work efficiently in a fast-paced environment. The Heavy Equipment Mechanic will ensure all equipment operates safely and reliably, supporting our ongoing operations across various industries including construction, agriculture, and manufacturing.

Duties

  • Perform routine maintenance and repairs on heavy equipment such as excavators, horizontal directional drills, mirror drills, cat excavators, diesel rucks , and regular gasoline fuel trucks
  • Diagnose issues using schematics, electrical diagnostics, and mechanical knowledge
  • Repair and replace components including transmissions, hydraulics, suspension systems, brakes, and air brakes
  • Fabricate parts or modifications as needed using welding, soldering, and hand tools
  • Conduct inspections to identify potential problems before failure occurs
  • Maintain detailed service records and documentation of repairs performed
  • Operate heavy machinery for testing purposes after repairs to ensure proper function
  • Assist with equipment assembly and installation projects when required
  • Perform tire service, alignment, HVAC repairs, and other specialized maintenance tasks
  • Follow safety protocols to ensure a safe work environment for self and others

Qualifications

  • Proven experience as a Heavy Equipment Mechanic or Service Technician with dealership experience preferred
  • Strong knowledge of OEM parts, schematics, and electrical systems related to heavy machinery
  • Proficiency in using hand tools, power tools, welding equipment, and diagnostic tools
  • Experience with diesel engines, transmissions, hydraulics, HVAC systems, and brake repair
  • Ability to perform heavy lifting safely and operate heavy equipment during testing procedures
  • Familiarity with automotive repair techniques including tire service and vehicle maintenance
  • Excellent problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex mechanical issues
  • Strong customer service skills for interacting with clients regarding repairs and maintenance needs
  • Mechanical or automotive repair certification is a plus; relevant experience is essential
  • Ability to work independently or as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
