About the Role

One of our clients in the utility industry is seeking a highly skilled
Cloud Security Architect
to join their Cybersecurity organization. In this role, you will partner with the Cloud Engineering team to ensure secure configuration and management of cloud infrastructure across
Azure, AWS, and other major platforms
. You will lead cloud security initiatives, provide expert guidance, conduct assessments, and drive the design and implementation of secure cloud solutions.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and implement secure cloud architectures across
    AWS, Azure, and GCP
    .
  • Conduct security assessments and ensure compliance with
    NIST, CIS, and other frameworks
    .
  • Lead incident response efforts and support cloud security tabletop exercises.
  • Collaborate with developers and DevOps teams to embed secure practices in
    CI/CD pipelines and Infrastructure-as-Code (IaC)
    .
  • Oversee user access controls and privileged account management aligned with industry standards.
  • Partner with GRC teams to refine cloud security policies and IAM standards.
  • Perform security reviews of architecture, infrastructure, and applications; identify gaps, and implement mitigation strategies.
  • Manage
    CSPM
    (Cloud Security Posture Management) and
    container security
    solutions.
  • Serve as a Subject Matter Expert on cloud security best practices and emerging threats.
  • Provide coaching and mentorship to junior staff.
  • Support strategies that optimize resource utilization while minimizing cost.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in
    Computer Science, Information Security
    , or a related field (or equivalent experience).
  • Proven success in
    cloud platform engineering
    with direct experience in
    Azure and AWS
    .
  • Familiarity with
    CISSP
    or similar security certifications.
  • Hands-on experience with
    containerization technologies
    (Docker, Kubernetes).
  • Strong knowledge of cloud incident response, secure configuration, and compliance frameworks.
