Kennel Technician

Job Overview

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Kennel Technician to join our team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for caring for animals, maintaining a clean and safe environment, and assisting staff with animal handling and care. This role offers an opportunity to work in a dynamic setting focused on animal well-being and customer service. Prior experience with pet care, animal handling, or veterinary assistance is preferred, but training will be provided for the right candidate.

Responsibilities

• Provide daily care and supervision of animals housed in the kennel, including feeding, watering, and cleaning enclosures
• Support veterinary procedures by preparing animals and assisting during examinations or treatments
• Perform pet grooming, pet sitting, or other animal care tasks as needed
• Maintain cleanliness of kennel areas, including sanitation of cages and equipment
• Monitor animals for signs of illness or distress and report findings to staff
• Assist with pet grooming and basic pet care routines
• Provide excellent customer service by communicating effectively with pet owners and addressing their concerns
• Handle heavy lifting when necessary to move supplies or animals safely

Qualifications

• Prior experience in dog training, pet grooming, or animal handling is highly desirable
• Veterinary technician or assistant experience is a plus
• Knowledge of animal restraint techniques and pet care best practices
• Strong customer service skills with a compassionate attitude toward animals and clients
• Ability to handle heavy lifting safely and perform physically demanding tasks
• Excellent communication skills and attention to detail
• Ability to work independently as well as part of a team in a fast-paced environment
